New 5e Playtest, Podcast Appearance,
over 5 years ago – Wed, Dec 19, 2018 at 08:51:36 PM

Hey Backers!

A couple of quick announcements:

I'm currently curently working on on a corrected proof of the physical copy of the campaign setting guide. I also have some emails (including a couple distribution problems) and I should have everyone responded to by end of day (thanks for bearing with me if you've been awaiting response), Quick reminder, best way to reach me is always email john [at] jmperkins.com ; occasionally I get busy but I read and repsond to every email (one of my reoslutions for 2019 is being more responsive). In the meantime, wanted to let you know that there's some new 5e archetypes ready for your comments/suggestions in the playtest folder. These include:

-Mutated FIghter

-Circle of Fungus Druid (this one was tricky to differentiate from the official but not OGL Circle of Spores)

-Hemiotropic Wizard Specialization

-Barbarian Flayed Beast Primal Path

-College of the Dirge: Bard

-Manhunter ranger Archetype

(These have been there a few days, if you previously tried to comment the comments are unlocked properly).

I'll be appearing on an upcoming episode of the podcast 'Long Rest' talking about Salt in Wounds.

Anyway, hope you have happy holidays! I plan on seeing family a bunch in the weeks to come, and celebrating new years with friends, but I plan on using a bunch of my site's weeklong shutdown to jam out some Salt in Wounds.

Till Next Time;

J.M. Perkins

Campaign Setting Guide (Digital) Released Tomorrow and Proofing Print Copy Now
over 5 years ago – Wed, Dec 05, 2018 at 11:39:07 PM

Hey Guys;

I know I've been scarce in the update department & in responding to some of your emails and messages. This is a quick update to let you know that you should have digital delivery of the Campaign Setting guide (via RPGNow/DriveThru RPG) tomorrow, and print copies soon (I'm getting the print proof back next week I think, and after checking it over will authorize the printing).

Thank you for your patience, thank you for your support. More soon.

Sincerely;

J.M. Perkins

I am Still Alive, Working on Delivering Salt in Wounds
over 5 years ago – Mon, Oct 08, 2018 at 10:08:46 PM

Dear Backers;

I owe you apology. I am sorry: the Salt in Wounds project is late and I have missed some updates. I am one man who had vastly overambitious ideas on what I could produce in what timeframe. This doesn’t excuse my lapse, the ways I’ve failed you; but this is where I’m at.

I want you to know I’m still at work; and still absolutely committed to producing the best quality work I can. I’ll have more detailed info soon, but for right now I didn’t want another day to go by without saying simply: 1) I am alive and healthy 2) I am still hard at work at Salt in Wounds (and have never stopped working on it) 3) I continue to rearrange my life and work habits to put this out and 4) I promise to deliver each and every Kickstarter order in full as soon as I am able (which will be sooner rather than later).

Many of you have asked for shipping updates: I don’t have them yet. I also don’t want to provide another date that I fail to meet: I want to move to a place where I under-promise and over-deliver. I want to have the Campaign Setting guide (in addition to the myriad pdfs) out ASAP, as much as you want it in your hands I want it to be in your hands moreso. A number of backers and other have reached out to ask how they can help, and I’m taking them up on their generous offers to massively speed up production.

Other than publishing the Campaign Setting guide, my next big push it provide a new timeline and deadlines that I can commit to; because I’m done missing commitments and leaving you with anything less than what I’ve told you I’d have done by when.

Thank you for your bearing with me, I’m sorry for how you’ve been inconvenienced, for how I’ve failed to keep my word. You deserve better.

 If you have reached out to me directly, expect a reply within a week. Still excited to be producing this with you, and can’t wait to hear what you think.

Sincerely; John aka J.M. Perkins

Campaign Setting Guide: Advanced Playtest Copy is Out & Due Dates
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 25, 2018 at 07:13:06 PM

Hey all you awesome backers!

Just wanted to send you a quick note, everyone who is to receive either a physical or digital copy of the Campaign Setting guide, you should now have access to the Advanced Playtest Copy. The doc is still going through final edits, final layout, and final art collection but this should be everything you need to start playing your Salt in Wounds Game TODAY. (5e is live as of now, Pathfinder will be live by week's end).

This will also be your final chance to input notes/thoughts/error spotting before final layout and digital distribution - with a due date of my birthday, August 7th.

3 Ways You can Get Your digital Copy of the Advanced Playtest Copy:

  • If you're receiving the Campaign Setting Guide (any version) you should now have an email in your inbox via mailchimp from [email protected]
  • If you're part of the regular playtest (Marrow Miner & Up) you should also see a copy in the playtest folder.
  • If either of those options don't work, email me [email protected]

In any event, can't wait to hear what you think. Take care, thanks for backing, and let's play some games!
